Noor Chadha was born in Delhi, India and spent her childhood in Hong Kong. She received her BFA from New York University in 2013 with a double major in studio art & psychology, and is currently an MFA candidate at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Chadha’s recent work seeks antidotes to pandemic-exacerbated isolation and othering via relational representation and exploratory celebration of belonging across time, space, and culture.
Pastel on paper 21.5” x 16.5” each
These drawings were made for you,
newest peers, friends, community.
Thank you for opening up despite strange times,
for being, hearing,
for caring about each of the ‘other’.
Drunken laughter to somber lessons,
delicate musings to heartfelt makings,
Stories mix, cultures get re-understood,
expanded minds create freely with compassion,
peoples, bodies, spaces unravel
What kind of shoes do you wear?
Are you looking into my eyes?
Would we recognize us, from a different angle?
I look forward to (re)meeting you.
